Jesus was said to be born of a virgin, but his paternal bloodline was traced through Joseph to King David to prove his authenticity--and the two gospels that spell out this lineage give two different lineages. How can both be right? The evangelists couldn't agree on where he was born (cave or manger?) or where he gave the sermon (on the mount, or on a plain?). And John the evangelist completely alters the chronology, his timeline of Jesus' works zigzagging back and forth compared against the other accounts.
